Attack/Defence Awareness Card: Attack-MindedINFO: After an uneventful spell at Ligue 1, Ricardinho went from Bordeaux to SC Corinthians to take part in one of the most technical and dangerous midfields of recent brazilian soccer, alongside Freddy Rincón, Vampeta and Marcelinho Carioca. To this day, many fans of the team regard this era as the best midfield of Corinthians' history. Ricardinho performed mostly by the left side of the pitch, combining some speed with classy dribbling and pinpoint passes, floating between attacking midfield roles and occasionally dominating the left wing.
Ricardinho left a good mark on the club, creating crucial plays and scoring goals that helped the team to win important titles. In 2002, Ricardinho was called up to the national team as part of the 23-men roster, as Emerson suffered a late shoulder injury during a pre-tournament training session. Ricardinho came off the bench to partake in 3 matches.
During his time at Corinthians, Vampeta nicknamed him as "Vetera", short for "Veterano" (Portuguese for Veteran), making fun of his white hair.

Attack/Defence Awareness Card: Attack-MindedINFO: After leaving Corinthians in 2002, Ricardinho had a titleless spell at São Paulo until 2004, when he moved to Santos. For the
alvinegro, Ricardinho recovered his Corinthians form, now as a more mature and refined playmaker, lying closer to central midfield to orchestrate the attacks and to provide extra coverage to the team's defence. Ricardinho became the club's official penalty and free kick taker, being able to deliver high accurate bending FKs. He was called up by Parreira for Brazil's 23-men roster for WC 2006, coming off the bench in two opportunities and assisting Zé Roberto's goal against Ghana.
