INFO:Bertocchi was a goalkeeper. His career started at Livorno in 1948. He played 39 matches at Spal on loan in 1950-51. He then spent two years at Palermo before coming back to Spal, making 98 more appearances from 1953 to 1958. He eventually played two more seasons at Livorno and retired in 1960.
One of Spal's most iconic goalkeepers, Bertocchi was known for his effectiveness one-on-one when sprinting off the goal and for his peculiar attitude as he often reacted to an opponent celebrating for scoring by chasing him for a while. He could make miracoulous saves thanks to his reflexes and solid jump. However, his tendency to rush off the goal, sometimes recklessly, often left the goal open enough for an opponent to score effortlessly. His main weakness was probably his ineffeciency against ground shots. For example, he suffered three ground goals in a single match in a 4-0 loss against Juventus in the 1951-52 Serie A.
