Attack / Defence Awareness Card: Defense MindedINFOS:Turgay Şeren was a legendary Turkish goalkeeper, and alongside Rüştü best ever Turkish goalkeeper. He’s a one club man, spending his entire career in Galatasaray shirt and becoming one of their greatest ever players. He’s also well known by his nickname Berlin Panteri (Panther from Berlin) which he got after his impressive match against West Germany, where he impressed Fritz Walter with his saves. He was rational keeper, good at handling and catching the ball but also with great sense for punching the ball far away. Combining his height and excellent jumping ability, he was great great in aerial saves. He possessed good reflexes and mostly tried to save the goal with his hands, rather than feet. He was a commanding goalkeeper, and also possessed ability that was rare for the era in which he played. He was able to deliver precise long passes to his attackers both from the goal kick or when punting the ball. He played for Turkish national team for 16 years and was their first choice goalkeeper in their first ever appearance at World Cup in 1954. He was the captain of the national team in 35 games.
