Attack / Defence Awareness Card: Attack MindedINFOS:Gary Shaw was the only Birmingham-born player in Aston Villa squad that conquered Europe. He was highly skilled youngster who formed a lethal partnership with much older Peter Withe. In 1981, he won PFA Young Player of the Year award, and was awarded the Bravo Award the following year, as the best under-23 player in European Competitions. As a local hero he was living the dream. Until the tragic match against Nottingham Forest in 1982-83 season when he severely injured his knee. After that injury he never played at the same level like before. He was a young star who never reached his full potential.
