INFO:Odegbami is a former right-winger who could also play on the other flank, as centre-forward and attacking midfielder. He spent his entire career at Shooting Stars from 1970 to 1984 as he was forced to retire due to a bad knee injury. He capped for Nigeria 47 times, scoring 24 goals and winning the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring 2 goals in the final won 3-0 against Algeria. He was named in the African Cup team of the tournament in 1978 and 1980. He was national team captain for the vast majority of his matches.
Regarded as one of Africa's most talented players ever and the greatest right-winger in Nigeria's history alongside Finidi George, Odegbami was known for his amazing ball control, effortless dribbling, outstanding pace and excellent shooting ability as he mesmerised opponents and crowds with his dazzling sprints down the right flank. He could also provide accurate crosses whilst his ground passes weren't as consistently clinical. His nickname "Mathematical" referred to the accuracy with which he did everything in the field but also to his education as engineer. Odegbami moved extremely well and smoothly on the touchline, dribbling with ease and keeping the ball glued to his feet. He didn't fear defenders as he could split an entire back-line with his dribbling before shooting with power on both feet or attempting a header, showing physical power too due a muscular physique. He could beat an opponent on the flank and choose to cut inside as defenders expected him to cross. He would then move towards the goal with a mazing run. And if that wasn't enough, he would use physical strength and persistence. Furthermore, Odegbami didn't dislike falling back to help his own defense.
