Attack/Defence Awareness Card:
Attack MindedINFO:Muraro was a left-winger, capable to play also as centre forward. He spent the majority of his career at Inter in three different spells: between 1973 and 1975, from 1976 to 1981, between 1983 and 1985. He scored 55 goals in 193 matches with the
Nerazzurri. He played also for Varese, Udinese, Ascoli, Arezzo and Pistoiese, retiring in 1988.
Compared to Inter legend Jair da Costa, Muraro was gifted with outstanding speed − especially in acceleration, even though there were probably faster players than him in Italy at his time − great dribbling ability, nice power and sense of goal. He was firm with the ball on his feet and didn't fear to challenge his opponents. He was feared by the side-backs because he was made to cross, open spaces, create numeric advantage, serving a teammate before running in the box. In fact, he was very effective during counter-attacks and could deliver accurate low and high crosses to the box. He himself was dangerous inside the box thanks to opportunism, great timing, a good header ability and leap − considered higher than Boninsegna's. Marking him was very hard and the best way to stop him was putting him down. He was also good in 1-on-1 situations with the goalkeeper. He was left-footed but very accurate with the right foot too and he used to alternate both feet quite often − he was considered better than Jair in this aspect. He was quite helpful in terms of defending, being one of the first players to press the opponents, often the one who marked the better header during free kicks and corners.
