INFOS:

Roni Kalderon was considered to be the biggest talent of Israeli football. Unfortunately a wasted talent.

At the age of fifteen he made his debut in the first team of Hapoel Tel Aviv. In his debut, he scored two goals. A year later he made his debut as the youngest player ever in the Israeli national team.

In 1969 he was acquired alongside Johan Neeskens by coach Rinus Michels. Roni Kalderon is the only player from Israel who has ever been under contract with Ajax. Despite his talent, he never played a single game for the Ajax's first team. This was due to problems from the Israeli Football Association and his military service that he had to serve in his homeland.

After returning from his military service in 1971, other youngsters had blossomed in the first team and Ajax had no longer interest in Roni Kalderon. In Amsterdam, Roni made a lot of debts and problems, he was transferred to Feyenoord first and then to Paris FC but he couldn't get rid of his bad habits and lifestyle so he eventually returned home. He got involved in drug traffics in both Israel and in the State of São Paulo in Brazil and thus ended up in prison, prisons he managed to escape from. Nowadays there's no news of Roni Kalderon, according to some rumors he would have been killed, other people says that he's a begglar living in the streets of Tel Aviv.
