Eamonn Bannon was a key part of Dundee United's golden era. He was probably the most creative player in the team and from his usual position on the left of midfield he contributed many goals and assists for the club. And aside from his skill and playmaking, he was a hard working player with a good engine that never shied away from the physical side of the game. Bannon's speed over long distances, accurate crosses, nice close control and composure from the penalty spot made him a complete attacking player. He was also pretty good in the air, and was a very fit player, playing 440 games for Dundee United in only 9 seasons. He earned 11 caps for Scotland, and played in the games against Denmark and West Germany at the 1986 World Cup.
