INFO:
Uba-Kembo was a right side midfielder or right-winger, but he could play in defensive roles too. He spent his entire career at Vita Club from 1967 to 1980, winning the 1973 African Champions League. He represented Zaire from 1967 to 1976, making at least 23 appearances and scoring not less than 5 goals. He won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1968 and 1974, and participated at the 1974 FIFA World Cup.
Undoubtedly the most versatile player in the Zaire team that played at the World Cup, Uba Kembo proved to be solid in both attacking and defensive positions. His main assets were pace and dribbling skills which he showed in the first match against Scotland where he came in late as a substitute and completed several dribbles against Scottish defenders in the last twenty minutes of the match. He then played the whole match against Yugoslavia, but his position was closer to a right-sided defensive midfielder or right wing-back than a right-winger. He was focused on controlling the midfield and distribute the ball, preferring short passes to long ones, which were less consistently accurate. He once again was a substitute in the final match against Brazil but this time played like an additional defender who tried his best to mark Brazil's wingers. Uba Kembo was understandably weak in the air due to his short height.
