INFO:Lim Sak was a goalkeeper. He played for the Cambodian Police team (his teammate in the national team and reserve goalkeeper Lors Sarakhan played for the military team). He represented Cambodia during the 1970s, including the 1972 Asian Cup where he alternated his role as a starter with Sarakhan. Lim Sak's career ended in 1975 due to political chaos caused by the war in Cambodia.
Although some sources suggest that Sak and Sarakhan rotated for Cambodia, meaning that they may have had a similar level of quality, Sak was the starter in the most memorable games, including the 4-0 win over Kuwait at the 1972 Asian Cup or the 2-1 loss against Iran where Sak's abilities helped Cambodia keep the result of 1-1 for the majority of the match. Despite losses against Iran and South Korea, the latter with a result of 4-1, Lim Sak showed solid defensive stability that allowed Cambodia not to concede more goals. According to local sources such as the
Relational Archive of the Khmer Republic, Sak was in fact one of the key players of Cambodia's defence for his instinctive saves, bravery and physical power off the goal. Not only was he able to resist the initial attacks coming from Kuwait (a team that would finish runner-up in the following Asian Cup tournament) before Cambodia scored 4 goals, but he also took his national team to the penalty shootout in the third place match against Thailand as the result ended 2-2 after regular time. Lim Sak was also a protagonist in regional tournament such as the 1973 President's Cup where Cambodia shared the title with Myanmar following a 0-0 draw in the final.
