Attack MindedINFO: The "Blond Devil," as he was known, is the all-time top scorer for the Atletibas, with 20 goals for Coxa and 6 for Athletico-PR. He was part of the squad that won Coritiba's first two-time championship in history, in 1941 and 1942. In total, he won six Paraná state championships with Coxa.
Football in decades past didn't tolerate a team without a disruptive striker. He had to be the one who dominated the box, with good physical stature to face strong opposing defenses. In 1941, Coritiba introduced Neno, who quickly emerged as a top scorer. He was a tank, not particularly tall, but strong. He spent five years with Coritiba, went to Italy to join the FEB, and upon his return, transferred to Palmeiras. He returned to Coritiba, left, and moved to other teams, but in 1951, he was at the club that had given him so much glory, ending his career by winning the title and scoring the winning goal against Ferroviário (2-1) at Vila Capanema.
