Pablo Marí is a Spanish defender whose career has been marked by frequent stints at various clubs. A graduate of Mallorca, where he made his professional debut at a young age, he had discreet stints at clubs like Gimnàstic and Girona before being signed by Manchester City in 2016—although without playing for the senior team. From then on, his career took a turn for the worse, with successive loan spells at NAC Breda, Deportivo La Coruña, and other smaller European clubs, where he gained experience and solidified his playing style as a defender with good positioning, physical imposition, and a strong aerial ability.

The turning point came in 2019, when he was signed by Flamengo. Quickly adapting to South American football, Pablo Marí became a key player in Flamengo's defense under the comand of Jorge Jesus. With his imposing stance, ability to organize the defensive system, and excellent left-footed ball passing, he won over the fans. His chemistry with Rodrigo Caio and his confident performances were crucial in the Libertadores and Brazilian Championship victories that year. He was the first Spaniard to win the Copa Libertadores, a feat that gave him international visibility.

Shortly after his successful season in Brazil, he was acquired by Arsenal in 2020, but injuries and stiff competition limited his opportunities in London. Despite his consistent performances, Pablo Mari did not remain in England, moving to Italy, where he had mixed fortunes, playing for Udinese (2022), Monza (2022-25), and currently at Fiorentina (2025), where he has achieved a bit more stability in Serie A.
