INFO:Delai is a former left-back, capable of playing also on the other flank. He spent his career at Ba F.C. during the 1980s and early 1990s. He at least capped 10 times for Fiji and scored 4 goals, being instrumental in a 1990 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Australia in 1988 ─ where he played as right-back because Abraham Watkins was the starting left-back ─ as well as in the 1988 and 1992 Melanesian Cup both won by his national team.
A tall and classy player, Delai was calm in defending and in possession of good elevation to head the ball away, but he was mostly known for his overlapping runs down the flank. At the end of his run, he would often attempt to score, usually with powerful long range shots. Otherwise, he would deliver a lethal ground cross to the box after he had gained several yards and got close to the corner flag. He was a joy to watch as he could also control the play and dictate the pace of the game to the point that his fast-paced style could speed up the game when it was slow. His offensive prowess made him look more like a wing-back who took advantage of any opportunity to join the attack. Furthermore, he was a long throw specialist.
