On this day in 1983, Spain needed a 11-goal difference win against Malta to qualify for Euro 1984 instead of Netherlands. They achieved it by winning 12-1, scoring nine goals at the second half. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gooCXAegxKg

Did Real Madrid even need help to lose against Sheriff Tiraspol? Regarding Atlético de Madrid, who still sees Milan as a credible threat in Europe? Well Milan's not what they used to be but they managed to pose a threat against Atletico until the end. Real Madrid occasionally has some whistles in their favour to get results, but it's more of a coincidence, in their current state they won't get to the next round of UCL.

Poor little dwarf, even with such pathetic votes he couldn't prevent that there are still awards that aren't shoven up his ass for doing nothing for almost the entire year. Congrats Lewy, beeing voted the world's player back to back is really something for the history books. In his case his incredible work (in terms of professionalism and work offside the pitch he's similar to CR7) has paid off again.

Interesting African Cup so far. The eliminations of Algeria and Ghana are a big surprise.

But damn it was enjoyable Senegal is likely going to win the tournament, which they'd do for the first time. If a surprise outsider is going to win, I'd pick Gambia.

Senegal have been awful so far, as have Egypt, and Cameroon are only doing well because of corruption. IMO Morocco or Tunisia will win the whole thing.
