INFOS:

John McGovern was a heart and soul of the 70's Nottingham Forest team. He was Clough's most trusted player and he was Forest captain who lifted both European Cup trophies. Clough firstly bought him to Derby, then brought him with himself to Leeds, and finally to Forest. He played in midfield, mostly as defensive midfielder who was everywhere on the pitch. He was tireless, combative player who understood perfectly with his teammates. Although his main task was taking the ball from the opposition, he possessed very good qualities in organizing the attack. He possessed good passing skills, both short and long ones, and he was two footed player. He was slow player and that was his biggest flaw. One of his greatest qualities is that he always performed at top level, and he never missed any games. He's included in Scottish Hall of Fame but unfortunately for him, he was never capped for Scottish NT.

Not really, he was involved in offensive plays, but mostly to second third of the pitch where he would give ball to teammate (almost always to Robertson) and then wait for the ball back, or be there in case of lost ball so he can recover it again. He didn't go all the way so often.
