Attack / Defence Awareness Card: Defense MindedINFOS:Kenny Burns is former Scottish international who is mostly known for his successful period in Nottingham Forest where he formed a formidable defensive duo with Larry Lloyd. He arrived at Nottingham as striker, but Brian Clough converted him back to central defender and the rest is history. He was awarded with Forest player of the year award twice in five years. He was good at defensive positioning, but his greatest asset were his quick reactions an high jump. He was fast for a defender, which came useful in correcting his own mistakes on the pitch. He liked to join the attack and also sent passes from deep. His passes possessed good speed, but weren't that precise. He didn't hesitate to use his weaker foot, but it wasn't as good as the stronger one. He wasn't so good with the ball in his feet, and his first touch was pretty bad. One could expect a simple clearance from him, and he would just miss the ball and create an opportunity for opposition. He was often booked, as he hit opponents without any reason. His tough tackling earned him crowd favorite status but also helped him to get a lot of unnecessary bookings - from time to time he while guarding the attacker, he just headbutted him. He won seven trophies with Forest, most notably two consecutive European Cups in 1979 and 1980. He was capped for Scottish NT on 20 occasions.
