Attack/Defence Awareness Card: BalancedINFO:Arguably Aberdeen's best ever full back, Stuart Kennedy was a tenacious right back known for his leadership and his electric pace. Kennedy loved to get forward and was a real threat in the opposition's half with his good passing ability and surging runs, being able to blow past defenders and whip a cross in. He was probably one of the fastest defenders in the world at his peak, being able to run 100 metres in 10.8 seconds. He was nicknamed Spartacus for his determination, outspoken attitude and excellent leadership qualities. Tragically, he missed out on Aberdeen's greatest moment, missing the 1983 Cup Winners Cup final because of an injury he picked up in the semi final; in fact, he never played a professional game ever again, retiring at the age of 30 after failing to recover. Despite not being fit to play, he was named on the bench in the final as a mark of respect from his manager Alex Ferguson.
