INFO:
Colomba was a side or attacking midfielder. He spent most of his career at Bologna, playing 197 matches and scoring 7 goals from 1973 to 1983 in two separate spells, and Avellino, playing 164 games and scoring 17 times. He played also for Modena, Sambenedettese and retired in 1990.
Colomba was a fast player, gifted with versatility, great vision of the game and crossing ability, technique and dribbling. He mostly took advantage of his running ability to participate to both attack and defence, almost always getting to the end of the match tired. Because he lacked of lucidity in front of the goal − especially during his time at Bologna − he rarely tried to shoot and many of his goals were scored from penalty. In fact his main task was delivering the final assist to the forwards. Left-footed, sometimes he used the right as well even though he wasn't as effective as he was with his favourite foot. He could take free kicks well, mostly to cross but occasionally to try the shot on goal. He could deliver very good crosses with a low trajectory while his curled balls were dangerous, like one against Como that ended directly in goal.
