CONMEBOL has destroyed this show, they destroyed the cup. How can you play a cup called Libertadores de America in Spain? ffs, this is so ridiculous. of the more than 60,000 people that went to the stadium that day, only 5000 can access to a ticket.

I understand your frustration but first of all some River "fans" destroyed the cup by behaving like total retards.
There are IMO three reasons why Madrid isn't a bad choice:
1) Except for Argentina, Spain is the country where most Argentine people (around 250000) live.
2) Madrid Airport is the Airport is the key airport between Europe and South America => this means, for those from South America who get a ticket, that they won't have big problems finding a direct flight.
3) Santiago Bernabeu and the City of Madrid know how to handle big games, since they hosted CL finals already more than once.
I'm not saying that Madrid is a perfect choice but I can understand why CONMEBOL chose it and not another City.

The fact that Modric is about to win the Ballon d'Or is a complete joke, if this wasn't a World Cup year he wouldn't even be nominated at all, he's been dreadful for 3/4 of the year. If the award was solely based on who consistently had the best performances, Messi would have 7 or 8 Ballon d'Ors by now, to put guys like Mbappe and Griezmann above him this year is insulting...

So what? Those awards were always given to those who won big titles in that year. Cannavaro won it in 2006 despite showing his class only at the WC and failing at Real afterwards. Ronaldo even won the Ballon D'or in 2013 despite having not a single great game except for those two WC qualifiers against Sweden..
And regarding Griezmann: He won EL and WC and was a key member of both teams, what else should he have done?
