INFO:
Rolf Pedersen, also known as "Pesen", was a left inside, left winger and occasionally a centre forward. It's said though that he could play in every position, even goalkeeper. Regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of Brann alongside Roald "Kniksen" Jensen, he's the team's top scorer with 131 goals in 225 official matches − unofficially 245 goals in 335 appearances. He had his best period between 1960 and 1963, scoring 68 times in 76 matches, helping Brann winning two national leagues in 1961-62 and 1963, becoming the tournament top scorer at the end of the first winning season. He unfortunately lacked of consistency after 1963, probably for a loss of motivation due to the huge early success. He gained 15 caps for Norway, scoring 5 times.
Pedersen was very versatile and had great temperament: it's said that he once ran across the field to help an injured Arild Hetleøen and then ran to the coach, successfully requesting the substitution of his teammate. Sadly, Hetleøen got mad for the episode and expressed his unwillingness to play a match with Pedersen again. While Roald Kniksen was an individualist, Pedersen was a team player and assist-man other than a prolific scorer. Capable with both feet, he was renowned for his thunderous shots that sent many defenders and goalkeeper out of the field after being hit by one of them. In fact, it's said that one of his shots once made a goalkeeper faint.
