Usually the corner were taken by the wingers during that era, in this case by Jackson and Smith.
I wouldn't remove Richardson but would move him to the strikers section.
And the reason for so "few" midfielders is simple: unlike many other British teams, Huddersfield only played with three defenders but only two midfielders (unlike most other British teams at that time), a system that Chapman succesfully also used at Arsenal in the years afterwards. And on those positions Huddersfield had Watson and Steele who both were incredibly constant. Just look at the matches from them:
Steele played 88 matches (31-39-18) but the reason for this was that he missed big part of the 1925-26 season due to injuries.
Watson played 123 matches and only missed three matches in those three years what is even more impressive considering the time he played..
