INFO:
Stone is a former right side midfielder and winger. One of the most important players of Nottingham Forest in the 1990s, he played 229 matches and scored 27 goals for the club from 1991 to 1999. He then played for Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Leeds United, retiring in 2007. He suffered several leg injuries during his career, some in his early career, a serious one in the 1996-97 season and more after he left Nottingham Forest. He gained 9 caps for England, scoring twice and taking part to the 2000 UEFA Euro.
Stone possessed high speed, good dribbling and ball control to overcome the defenders. Despite not having a huge physique, he could resist to the charges from his opponents. An excellent passer of the ball, he could deliver either accurate short passes or fast crosses. A threat near the opposing box, he wasn't only a provider of scoring chances but he himself was a good scorer. He shot especially well with volleys, lobs and long rangers. He often surged to the box at any possible chance. He scored once with a surprisingly great header. Right-footed, he sometimes showed good things with the left too.
