INFO:
Rolf Birger Pedersen, better known as "Pesen", is considered one of the best players in Brann's history along with Roald "Kniksen" Jensen. Pedersen started his career as a winger but he became an inside left. He could play in all attacking position but it was said that he could play in every position in the field even as a goalkeeper. Pedersen was a very temperate team player: it was told that once he ran across the field to help one of his teammates and then he ran to the bench to ask for his substitution. Despite his altruism and teamwork Pedersen was a great and prolific scorer: he scored 132 goals in 226 matches (245 goals in 335 if friendly matches are considered) plus 5 goals in 15 matches for Norway. Pedersen not only was a very versatile player but he also was very good with both legs and his shots were incredibly hard: many goalkeepers and defenders went down to the ground after being hit by one of his shots. His only problem was his unconsistent form after being one of Brann's leader to the championships won in 1962 and 1963 (38 goals in 49 matches and top scorer in 1961-62) because he never reached that level again even though he continued to score a lot of goals.
