INFO:Darci José de Faria, born in Rio de Janeiro on July 17, 1931, began his career with Madureira in 1952 and remained at Conselheiro Galvão until 1956, when he was signed by Bangu. At Moça Bonita, he quickly established himself as the club's first-choice center-back, helping Bangu finish as runners-up in the 1959 Campeonato Carioca and win the prestigious New York Tournament in 1960.
However, in June 1961, during the second edition of the same tournament, Darci suffered a fractured leg after a challenge by Everton's English defender Bingham. From that moment on, his career declined dramatically. Although he returned to the pitch in June 1962, he never regained a regular starting position.
Darci was renowned for his exceptional aerial dominance, composed tactical positioning, outstanding tackling ability, and reliable defensive cover. A classic old-school center-back, he remained with Bangu until 1964, making a total of 224 appearances for the club without ever being sent off.
