Nílton dos Santos, not to be mistaken for the legendary Botafogo full-back of the same name, is one of the most iconic players in Bangu's history. He played primarily as a left-back, while also serving as an option in midfield. He made 517 appearances for the Moça Bonita club. Despite his short stature of just 1.67 m, he compensated with speed, excellent positioning, and consistency. He was part of the renowned Bangu squad that won the International Soccer League in New York in 1960, as well as the team that finished as runners-up in the 1964 Campeonato Carioca. His physical durability, consistency, and exemplary sportsmanship earned him a call-up to the Brazilian national team in 1956.
