INFO:Artur dos Santos Lima, popularly known as Arturzinho and crowned "King Arthur" by the Bangu supporters, was one of the most creative and technically gifted midfielders in Brazilian football during the 1980s.
Despite his short physical stature of just 1.62 meters and 60kg, he imposed himself through superb agility, exceptional ball control, and inch-perfect defense-splitting passes. An amazing taker of direct free kicks and corner kicks, he became famous for scoring Olympic goals on numerous occasions. It made little difference which side of the pitch the corner was taken from. Although naturally right-footed, Arturzinho delivered corners from the right with the same precision and effectiveness as from the left, a rare ability.
The playmaker became one of the greatest idols in the history of football in Mato Grosso do Sul. In Rio de Janeiro, he played for Fluminense but achieved his greatest success with Bangu and Vasco da Gama, where he was a runner-up in the 1984 Brazilian Championship.
As gifted as he was, however, Arturzinho ultimately remained in the shadow of even more talented players, such as Sócrates and Zico.
