INFO:
Signed by Cruzeiro Esporte Clube in 1991, Marco Antônio Boiadeiro quickly established himself as a starter in the team’s midfield, playing a crucial role in the club’s success. In his first season, he won the Supercopa Libertadores, a title he repeated in 1992 alongside other stars of the era. His refined style of play and outstanding performances helped Cruzeiro dominate the competition and also secure the 1992 Minas Gerais State Championship.

The year 1993 was especially significant for Boiadeiro. In addition to winning the Copa do Brasil, he was called up to the Brazil national football team and took part in the 1993 Copa América. However, a costly mistake in the penalty shootout against Argentina in the quarterfinals led to Brazil’s elimination and unfortunately ended his chances of maintaining a longer run with the national team.

Boiadeiro continued to shine at Cruzeiro, making 134 appearances and scoring 10 goals. He was a key figure in the club’s victories in the Supercopa Libertadores in 1991 and 1992, as well as the Copa do Brasil in 1993. His technical ability, vision, precise passing, and fiery determination were essential in maintaining the team’s balance and intensity.

After three seasons at Cruzeiro, Boiadeiro left the club and moved to Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, later joining Sport Club Corinthians Paulista. Before his time at Cruzeiro, he had also played for Guarani Futebol Clube, Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama, and Botafogo Futebol Clube.
