Formed at Independiente and with experience in South America, he arrived to Costa Rica as a proven offensive midfielder and quickly stood out for his exquisite first touch, vision and ability to combine gambetas, backheels and through balls to unlock tight games. He was not a sprinter in the mould of a winger, but in his prime he was notably quick over the first meters and brave enough to constantly face defenders, playing both centrally and drifting to the flanks. With Alajuelense he was a key figure in multiple league titles and the 2003–04 Concacaf Champions’ Cup run, running the game between the lines, linking with strikers and taking responsibility on set-pieces and penalties. This set aims to reflect a top-level playmaker for CONCACAF standards: very high passing and technique, good mobility and agility, but low pace and physicality, so he plays as a true creative brain rather than an all-round athlete. Spoiler: show |

Stop trash stats. 1) never played in National 2) never played in Europe 3) Alajuelense is a team to compare a Italian Serie B or Championship.. |

This player should at least have a few stats in the yellow, and I doubt he's more skillful than Rafael "Fello" Meza, even though he's considered one of the most technically gifted players in Costa Rican football. To make matters worse, I think the only relevant clubs he played for were Independiente and Libertad, so he doesn't stand out. If you're trying to create a set, base it on the level of the leagues. Physical attributes can vary in some exceptional cases, but technical attributes don't, and that's what prevents a footballer from playing in a top league. For example, Fello Meza played in Argentina during the era when Argentine football had great prestige and was the best in the world, whereas this guy here didn't. |
