INFO:Yousuf Obaid Al-Zakwani is regarded as one of the most prominent goalkeepers in the history of Oman football, and one of the figures who firmly established the status of the Oman goalkeeper at the Gulf level. He shone remarkably in the 9th Arabian Gulf Cup in 1988 in Riyadh, where he was crowned Best Goalkeeper despite the strength of the competition. He played a decisive role in achieving Oman’s first historic victory in the Gulf Cup tournaments against Qatar, thanks to his influential saves, Although he sometimes committed serious mistakes during matches, for example: his poor timing in coming out of his goal to intercept crosses, and failing to hold the ball securely. After retiring, he continued his contribution on the technical side as a goalkeeping coach with the Oman Olympic team and the national teams. He is viewed as a pioneering goalkeeper who paved the way for later achievements, most notably the success of Ali Al-Habsi in the Gulf Cups.
