Bye bye any chance of the Netherlands on a good result during the WC.

Btw how is Mertens doing it in Italy?

Very well, he's a very good player, and he often helped Napoli in difficult moments.. great dribbler..

In the first half of the season he was often a substitute but now he is always in starting XI in place of Insigne, very good player, good dribbling and shot. He is not a surprise, he was one of my favourite player in PSV too. It's incredible that PSV didn't reach anything last year with all these good players.

The problem with PSV last year was it's consistency. When PSV was having a bad match they lost the match and when Ajax had a bad match they still managed to get a draw or minor victory and they had bad results against other contenders.

In Holland there was a lot of doubt if Mertens would succeed in Italy. He was a player with fantastic statistics: he had 15+ assist AND 15+ goals in both his seasons @PSV BUT he never scored against the other contenders (Ajax, Feyenoord and Twente). He made his goals against the smaller teams. Therefor there was doubt that he would succeed in a stronger compitition. It's good to see that he can be very important for a bigger team in a bigger league.

It is also good for PSV because now a youth player (Memphis Depay) is getting his minutes (last season he only came as a substitute because of the fantastic statistics of Mertens). He is developing very fast this season. At this moment he is the 2nd or 3rd winger of the Netherlands (behind Robben and perhaps Lens) and will go to the WC. Van Gaal states that he is perhaps better as Robben at his age.
His strenghts are:
- outstanding shot (more or less same technique as C. Ronaldo)
- very good dribbler
- very fast
- very strong for his size
- very hard worker (he puts a lot of effort in a match and he is the player that trains the most of all..) and heart for his club: when PSV was in that losing streak this season he went into the crowd to talk with the supporters and left the field crying.

His weaknesses atm are:
- his efficiency: he has trouble making easy goals
- his decision making: he has trouble finding the right balance between going for the cross/assist or trying to shoot himself.

I'm hearing rumours about Juventus's intrest in Bruma and Locadia. How serious is it? Both are not ready for Juventus yet imo

There are too many rumours in general.. by the way, in your opinion which are the "ready" players in Netherlands for a team like Juventus? I think some players are really good, I heard there are a lot of good SB and good midfielders..

I think the following can be good enough for the top teams of the Serie A:

Depay (PSV)
Arias (PSV)
Janmaat (Feyenoord)
Blind (Ajax)
Klaassen (Ajax)
Tadic (Fc Twente)
Ebecilio (Fc Twente)
Promes (Fc Twente)
Van Aanholt (Vitesse)
Ziyech (Heerenveen)

Not necessary all first 11 but first 18 at least. And some are playing just a few months on a decent level but all are really young.

What players are really good in your opinion?

Some months ago there were rumours about Janmaat, I think this is a good player, like also Van Aanholt.. I heard good things also about Tadic and Ebecilio.. Anyway Juventus usually doesn't but young players from Eredivisie, even if there were some exceptions (Ibrahimovic is THE exception :D )

Respect for Borussia Dortmund, a great team with a great coach. They play football and enjoy to do it, it's fantastic!
Fantastic match with Real Madrid, IMO Borussia deserved to pass.
