I didn't play PES in the PS2 for the longest time, but I believe even back in the day there was the L1 + Triangle command which accuracy is defined by LPA. Manual crosses with Circle are probably not affected too much by LPA when performed by the player, but they are when performed by the A.I.

Jump to me seems rather random (specially when defending an attacking corner).
LPA seems to be slightly better "coded" in older games, the "recent" PS2 games (starting from PES 6) seemed to be a bit inconsistent, no matter how good the LPA was.

Then, we rate stuff in order to have the CPU emulate things we see on games, trying to influence its behavior, for example, nothing stop us to try and play through passes with Trézéguet every single time he's in possession, right? :lol:
