JeanMarc wrote: I'll tell you why am I angry: Neuer won WC, so what Illgner won WC too, Turek as well, and they were both better keepers...How many players from 1954 team are in Germany's first team . This is a joke right? No one in Germany (even not in Köln) would say that these two keepers were better than Neuer Although I know you hate modern football but you can't be serious if you say that Turek is a better GK than Neuer.. |

More reserves here? Unlikely. The only logical debate here is the capitano campione del mondo Cannavaro in for the forever injured Nesta. |

So we have to avoid these shamefull things , with no intention of offense anybody. Quote: Concerning Messi, well, in my criteria for entering in this team he shouldn't be here.. his influence and sucess with NT aren't good, also he didn't played for any senior club from SA, only looking on individual quality, but I wouldn't put him for now.. Quote: Why? He is by far better than Messi and had played more than good role in two South American clubs.. He is Argentinian born, it's true that played for Spain NT he didn't appeared in any big tournament but he scored 23 goals in 31 matches and changed history of Spanish football.. Probably Messi will become the best player in history in my opinion , i respect if other think that other player can be the better |

Baggio, all of them have won something with the Nazionale, so yes, biggest achivements mean something for this kind of team. I really fail to see why Rosetta is in the first team despite the fact he only played in the opening game at the 1934 World Cup, if anyone from the 30s should be in the team, it should be Monzeglio or Rava, especially Monzeglio who won 2 World Cups and was in the team of the tournament in 1934. And of course, Cannavaro deserves first team much more, being the captain in 2006 and giving legendary performances the whole tournament, certainly better than Nesta ever played for Italy... Having Rosetta in the team is like having Alfred Pfaff or Heinz Flohe in the Germany team or Ricardo Bochini in the Argentina team: legendary players, but played basically no part in their countries biggest achievements. And Rosetta is not someone like Baggio who is arguably Italy's greatest attacking player of all time and the best player of his generation. So if someone wants to make a genuine argument as to why Rosetta should be there over Cannavaro, go ahead, but there really is no acceptable reason other than bias... |

Not exactly, Rosetta has been a great player for Italy but he should be out for another motivation: in modern football he would be sweeper and we have already Baresi and Scirea. If our criterium is national performance Cannavaro should be in for sure, amazing in 2006 but very good in 1998 (not against Salas ) and in 2000. Nesta was surely better than Cannavaro but he was very unlucky and always injuried so Fabio has reached higher performances than him. |

Well of course the main criteria is their perfomance at international level. And what's this bullshit as "players class"? We are talking about the top NT on the world, not so random poor NT like Venezuela or China where you eventually will bring the most known players to fill the squad. |
