I think coach should be Karl Rappan.

Definitely, also Eggimann should be in first team. Vernati & Max Abegglen could both be considered for best XI as they were way better than Sforza and Chapuisat. For reserves you could IMO consider to add Diego Benaglio, Gökhan Inler and Stephan Lichtsteiner ;)

Any opinions for Gurkenjoe's suggestions?

You can update it. Next time don't wait so long, if you don't see any answer in 15 days, update it without asking...

From the recent era, we should add Shaqiri and Xhaka in 23, as the weakest links I recognize Vernati and Odermatt

Incredible nonsense. Vernati was one of the best midfielders in Europe in his prime and one of most important players in the Verrou system alongside Minelli. Saying that you "recognize" him as the weakest link here proves that you have absolutely no idea about him, his qualities or the history of the Swiss NT in general.

Minelli yes,i have also heard and read about the others in the Swiss team, and since according to you he is one of the best midfield players in pre-war Europe, give me an article or blog or anything that confirms your claims, and one more thing, don't answer, just tell someone "You have no idea", answered the post to the end. And if not him, then who should be dropped from the list.

Anything ever written about the Verrou system lists Vernati as one of the main reasons it worked, because of his fantastic playmaking ability and tactical intelligence basically doing the job of two midfielders which allowed Minelli to act as a sweeper behind the three full backs.

If you’re asking to remove someone from the team then the minimum that is required is that you actually know the player, I don’t think that’s too much to ask. It’s not our job to teach you, it’s not difficult to do your own research before making a comment.

According to the book "100 Years of Football" (G. Diakogiannis, 1998) BURGENER is considered the best post-war Swiss GK and Karl ELSENER was a much trustworthy GK with a great career. Maybe both rank above BALLABIO. I'll also mention Marco PROSPERI, but I don't think he could make it. Moving to other positions, shouldn't BOTTERON be listed as a MF? Also Alfred BICKEL is referred as the most complete centre forward Swiss football has featured. Maybe he could claim best XI, although I can understand HÜGI above him. EGLI was one of the best domestic defenders for many years, could play successfully both as a stopper and sweeper. I would consider him for the first team. There are many other names not mentioned here, but I think you'll take them into account. Last but not least, Rudolf RAMSEYER is referred as a FW and it is written he scored 239 league goals with Young Boys, while his NT record: 58 caps / 21 goals. I report this info to find out if there is any truth about it.
