Has anybody a suggestion for formation of that team?
Btw, Otto Rehagel really should be listed as coach of that team. Panagoulias has archieved nothing with the national team while Rehagel won the European Championship with them..

I don't know. I don't know most of these Greece players but when I think about Greece 2004 the first players that comes to my mind is Charisteas with the winning goals in the quarter final and final. So unfortunatly I don't know what player to be replaced

I would take out Zagorakis and put there APOSTOLAKIS since is better and play in that position too.
I think the team is lack of RB.

Thanks Gurkenjoe93 I didnt know he play as right back too.
Anyway there are to many CB´s and just Apostolakis to play as right side back (and is his second position as RB).
Iosofidis was an attacking left back the same with Georgatos.

I would put Seitaridis instead a CB since there are 5 in the team.

I really don't get why Eleftheropoulos is part of the team here. He played only 12 times for them before he was kicked out of the NT after an argument with Vassilis Daniil (who was coach of Greek NT) at that time. He should be replaced by Takis Ikonomopoulos since Ikonomopoulos is probably the best Greek GK of all time (alongside Sarganis) and belonged to the best European GKs during his prime..
I agree with Artemds that Seitaridis should be in, IMO Dabizas could be moved to the reserves for him..

Hatzipanagis only ever played 2 matches for Greece, one of which was a friendly when he was 45 years old. There’s no way he should be in this team...

Since a National AS team overhaul is under progress I'm looking forward to take part to this one. First team won't need many changes. Georgatos' contribution could be questioned, but of course it's difficult him to be knocked out. Only if Torosidis, who operated often as a left-back, had a chance against him. Have in mind some midfielders and forwards didn't have many achievements at national level to earn their spot, but they are considered legendary figures of the national football in general. Chatzipanagis has to be aborted unfortunately, although his recognition among fans is universal like no other's. Reserves should be revised despite the decent work. About goalkeepers, Pentzaropoulos and Mantalozis are considered the greatest duo national team could wish for. The ten defenders I would choose are: Linoxilakis, A. Kamaras, A. Kapsis, Kirastas, Karataidis, Dabizas, M. Kapsis, Fissas, Torosidis, Papastathopoulos. Kostas Manolas could easily dispose any defender (first team or reserve), but I would wait for his return to the national team first and see how far his legacy can be extended. At the midfield Katsouranis can't be left out. At the attack Choumis, Batista and Choutos could be drawn back. I'm doubtful about Machlas and Vrizas as well. Mitroglou holds a strong case, Salpingidis can't be put aside. I could provide more details through discussion. I quote some useful links in case you haven't discovered them yet. Here's a poll back to 2013 about the designation of the best national team. That poll had a fairly impressive participation (18.000 people approx.). Of course don't relate totally to the results, but simply focus to the candidates.
