At the same time, the NASL was of a hilariously poor quality apart from a few players, and Rick Davis literally played indoor football for a large part of his career. Beasley played in a Champions League semi-final, he would have absolutely dominated the NASL at his peak...

My point is that Davis may have been an exceptional player in an absolute joke of a league that was filled with American players with zero footballing ability and elderly foreigners that stopped caring 5 years before, whereas Beasley played at a high level against teams that actually knew how to play football. I don’t even like Beasley, he played for Rangers who I hate with every fibre of my body, but there is a clear difference between being an average player in a good team like Beasley, and being a slightly above average player in a sea of shit like Davis...
