Arturo Vidal surely has to be in first team here and also in first XI as he's the best Chilean defensive/central midfielder ever. Gary Medel is another candidate for first team while Claudio Bravo & Mark Gonzalez could be considered for reserves..

Any ideas who have to be moved to reserves?

Vidal for Carlos Reynoso or Jaime Pizarro, while Medel, Bravo & González should be in Reserves

Alberto FOUILLOUX should also be on the first team, since he was capped 70 times and scored 12 goals, and was part of Chile's 1962 & 1966 World Cup squads.

I guess it would be instead of Reinoso, since they played the same position.

Absolutely In addition to the players I already mentioned, Jorge Valdivia, Jean Beausejour and Mauricio Isla maybe should be here too..

IMO Bravo has to be here now, I am not questioning the quality of Rojas, but this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Maraca ... lification) It's totally ridicoulous to have a player like that (who didn't even spend a reasonable amount of time being the Chilean GK..), and worst with that incident of unsportsmanlike conduct..

Bravo IN Rojas OUT
Medel IN Astengo OUT (Same issue as Rojas)
Vidal IN Pizarro OUT
Updated formation (a slightly more defensive version of the 3-5-2 regularly used by Chile nowadays).
Added Eduardo Vargas, Mauricio Isla, Jean Beausejour, Jorge Valdivia, Charles Aránguiz and Marcelo Díaz to reserves

Medel in best XI but no Sanchez? How can Sanchez (probably the best Chilean player after Figueroa) not be there? Formation should be a 4-4-2, with Sanchez and Hormazabal as wingers and Vidal as DM/CM.. And even if you want to keep Marcos, then it should be a 4-4-2 like this: -----------------------Bravo-------------------- --Eyzaguirre--Figueroa--Quintano--Garrido-- ----------------------Marcos-------------------- --------------Vidal------------------------------ -------------------Valdes-------Sanchez------- --------------Zamorano----Salas-------------- Ton conclude it: Best XI of Chile is simply not possible
