Couldn't some of the swedes Andreas Jakobsson & Joakim Persson be among the reserves at least, and the other swedes Wibrån, Prica, Arvidsson & Lantz be considered in the first team? They were part of the greatest era in club history? |

Btw, the greatest era of the club was definitely during the 1960s, when they reached two cup finals, were four times runner-up in the championship and many Hansa players (Zapf, Pankau, Heinsch, Seehaus, Bialas, etc) gained caps for the NT. They also won Double in 1991 and gained promotion to Bundesliga. In the following season they were relegated and also went out in the first round of the European Cup against Barcelona (losing 0:3 in Barcelona but winning 1:0 in Rostock). That doesn't mean that I have no respect for those Swedish guys but I don't see any of them here in first team. Anyway, now as I see the team again, perhaps Lange could be promoted to first team to have a backup for Kische.. |

I am in no way an expert of Hansa Rostock, just read an artikel in a swedish paper of when Rostock had 6 swedes on field at the same time; Jakobsson, Persson, Lantz, Wibrån, Prica & Arvidsson. That is something unique in a big league like bundesliga. The artikel also said that it was during the best era in Hansa history. They were called "knäckebrödsligan" in the town of Rostock. Like "Swedish Flatbread gang" But I now you are really good in german football history so I lift my hat and listen to you! |
