INFO:Chambers was an inside left, later in his career also centre half. He spent the majority of his career at Liverpool, where he made 339 appearances from 1919 to 1928, scoring 151 goals, and being instrumental in the Liverpool's back-to-back First Division wins, hitting the net 21 times in 1921-22 and 25 in 1922-23. After leaving the "Reds", he played for West Bromwich Albion in the Second Divison, and other clubs in lower leagues until his retirement in 1948. He capped for England in 8 occasions.
An extremely prolific scorer, Chambers was distinguished mostly for his amazing shooting prowess, but he was a fan favourite also for his cheerfule attitude and constant smile. He scored an average goal every two games, and the opponents feared his thunderous left-footed shots that bursted into the net. In addition, he possessed an excellent heading ability, and a remarkable positional sense that enabled him to get in the right spot of the opposing penalty area to head the ball in. He was a genius of the attack as he led the forward line with his stylish ball control, neat ball distribution, and fine shot. Although he was a bit slow due to his bulky physique, he was incredibly effective. His lack in speed though was the reason why he was turned into a centre half when he was 32. Nonetheless, he showed a superb ability of reading the game, filling the new role with success.
