In the third Orange opted for Leo Van Emmenes Bosschart and left half; as best left half was Puck van Heel drafted in the second team the Spartans in the fourth and Steeman Henk Arnold Horburger of VOC. About his choice of Emmenes Bosschart wrote: "One would go too far when Hagenaar claimed that this was a great footballer, because he excelled in technique and tactics are not as like for example Van Heel. But he was an all-rounder and especially his defensive game was very strong. With his lithe, well-built body and his vivacious, somewhat boyish-like game play, Leo Bosschart certainly in this hall of fame at home. " The qualities of Bosschart was long in doubt. If Delft student in 1905 he became a member of Quick Hague, where he spent many years in lower teams played. Only in 1909, after a quick tour through England as the linchpin was tried, he got a permanent place in the first team. Three months later he was actually international. In Orange he played even after the First World War. Bosschart was still very localized in time the first real all-rounder. He represented the Netherlands at the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp. There he won the bronze medal with the Dutch football team. |
