INFO:

Jenő Károly was born in Budapest in 1886, and joined MTK Budapest at the age of 12. He was a grand dribbler, and made the league team at the age of but 14. He preferred to play on center half or inside right, but also was good on outside right or centre forward. He had the unusual ability of heading into the goal from a greater distance, he also had very good long pass. After having become top scorer of the Hungarian league in 1903, he even scored 25 goals in 1905 and was the first non-British player to become the best first-division top scorer in the world. Being quite lively in the penalty area, Jenő Károly also was awarded many penalties, though not all of them justified. He was the MTK playmaker and leader, and the public called him "Mr. Teacher". Jenő Károly played 23 matches for Hungary from 1904 to 1910, scoring a total of ten goals. After World War I he left for Italy, where he was successful as a trainer. Juventus FC (Turin) were vice-champions in 1926 under his guidance, but he died two days before the second final, on June 28, 1926, possibly from a heart attack caused by excitement.
