Penn was a left-winger. He's a one-club man who spent his entire career at Fulham where he's considered as one of their greatest legends. He played 459 matches and scored 50 goals from 1915 to 1934, mostly in Second Division. He was picked several times to play for England during wartime but he was unlucky to never gain a full international cap.
Penn wasn't a very prolific attacker but he was renowned for strength, quickness off the mark, cleverness and most importantly for being an assist-man thanks to a dangerous crossing ability.
