INFO:

Jørgen Juve is Norway's all-time leading scorer with 33 international goals in 45 games. What makes this achievement even more amazing is the fact that he only played 22 of those matches as a centre-forward. The rest of the time, he alternated between right-back and centre-half. Juve began his career at his hometown club Urædd, before moving to the capital in 1927, where he joined Lyn. He made his international debut as a right-back against Finland in 1928. In his 4th international, he was converted into a centre-forward, and he responded by scoring a hat-trick. He repeated the performance in his next international, and from then on, he had established himself as the first-choice striker. In his first eight matches up front, he scored an incredible 19 goals, and by the time he received his gold watch for playing his 25th international, he had scored 31 times. It was also in that match he was moved back to the defence. A very strange move when you look at his goalscoring record, and even stranger when you consider that none of his successors at the centre-forward spot came even remotely close to matching his scoring - but the selection committee probably had their reasons. Juve's brightest moment came at the Berlin Olympics in 1936, when he captained the side that later became known only as "The Bronze Team". Led by Reidar Kvammen and Arne Brustad, who were among the best players in Europe at the time, Norway shocked the hosts in the quarter-finals in front of an angry Führer. They then narrowly lost to Italy in the semis, and defeated Poland in the third-place match to secure the bronze medals. Brustad scored a hat-trick in that match. Juve retired from football in 1938, and had a short coaching stint up north with Bodø/Glimt in 1939. He later became a journalist, and has also written three football books. He died in 1983.

Quote:
Football experts, contemporaries called Juv one of the best players of his time. He often tried to play in the center of the attack - the gap greater role played not a technique of possession and power quality athlete. As Juve striker was able to play well head, he had great speed and powerful kick. As a defender, he was distinguished by precise and reliable pass, and well, "read the game" and knew for their duties in defense

Quote:
As a player he excelled with an energetic and forward-oriented style of play, where power, effort and progress played a greater role than technical details and dribble series. In that way he was characterized as a "modern player." As center runs he was good at his head, fast, intense and breakthrough player with hard and well placed shot. As defender, he was strong in tackle, secure in pass and with a well developed positioning capability.
