INFO:

Bas Paauwe is former Dutch midfielder, long time Feyenoord player and captain after the retirement of Puck Van Heel. Bas played as right wing half and centre wing half, formed excellent half line vith his brother Jaap and Van Heel. Although he was pretty small on that position he always played well, excellent dribbler regarded as magician with the ball, with good pace, agile and mobile with good ball control, stylish player and had good tactical awareness. Paauwe was at age 16 at a club member Feijenoord. On 29 December 1929 he made his debut in the first team of the red and white, with a 4-0 win against 't Gooi from Hilversum. Three other brothers Paauwes - Jaap, and Jan Arie - play. Bas Paauwe was a member of the team, on the 27th March 1937 the Feijenoord stadium De Kuip opened with a 5-2 win against Germinal Beerschot. The city rivals Sparta tried Paauwe 1944 and Gerard tops a penalty kick variant of successful Paauwe stepped to the penalty spot, putting the ball but only a few decimeters for tops that hit for a 2-2 score; Feijenoord ultimately won the derby with 4:3 . Besides the tournament, which took place in the Netherlands at that time still under amateur status Paauwe worked as an electrician at Holland-Amerika Lijn. By the late 30s he was then as innkeeper at Hille Vliet in the south of the Nieuwe Maas River, the suburb of Feijenoord work, where he later opened his own restaurant De Ster. After seventeen and a half years in which he for Feijenoord in 311 league games - in later years, in the wake van heels as captain - scored 18 goals, he was on 11 May 1947 for the last time in the first team in a 1-1 draw at AFC Ajax in Amsterdam. In his time he won three national championships and twice Feijenoord the KNVB Cup. As early as 1931 Bas Paauwe belonged to the Dutch national squad. He was 29th in the Oranje Play against Belgium in March 1931 as a center half Feijenoord between his brother Jaap and her teammate Puck van Heel injured, but not before. At his first international match he was only more than a year later, on 8 May 1932 against Ireland. In the Olympic Stadium Amsterdam introduced him to the selection committee as a legal Half - because his brother, who was a regular player at this position (he came on eight countries stakes 1931/32), was injured. In his debut, he played with the experienced van Heel, who had already completed 30 international matches, on the left, and Wim Ande giants AFC Ajax in the center half position. Bas Paauwe was found not suitable for the position of the right rotor. In the next match took Jaap it again. For about the next match in December 1932 in Dusseldorf against Germany Bas traveled while with the national team, but said shortly before the game from his participation, so Henk Pellikaan aground as a right half. Pellikaan took over the position in the following matches. Only two and a half years later, in November 1934, Bas Pauwe stepped back in Oranje. After Pellikaan was out injured, ran Paauwe stadium in Berne Neufeld's 4-2 victory over Switzerland on the right half-back. The combination Paauwe-Ande giant van Heel was now more than five years long, the main cast of the series runners, in the 22 games until the beginning of 1939 only once lacked Ande giants and even van Heel (the Paauwe in this game on links represented). In those games were for the World Cup qualifying matches and the 0-3 defeat after extra time against the Czechs and Slovaks in the final tournament in France. His only international goal Paauwe scored 1940 at the so-called shame of Rotterdam, the Netherlands than in the debut game of Abe Lenstra lost with 4:5 against LĂ«tzebuerg. His international career was interrupted by war and occupation, but after the war ended, he returned in 1946 for three games due to his performances on the dress with the number four. In these encounters, he was, as in the last pre-war match, the national team captain. Total completed Bas Paauwe 31 internationals. In none of them, however, he stood with his brother on the court Jaap. Paauwes role model as a coach was the instructor who had impressed him since 1935 at Feijenoord. As for Richard Dombi Paauwe for a friendly and respectful manner toward each other was crucial. Since the 1950s, he worked as a coach, including at clubs like Maurits in Geleen) WVC Winterswijk, HVC in Amersfoort, Sittardia in Sittard. From 1958 to 1960 he worked at VV Ede, which in 1960 led to the championship in the Derde class and the rise. In the season 1961/62 he coached the Enschedese Boys in the Eerste Divisie;. During the season, he was of his former team mates Abe Lenstra ousted, who wanted to have as a coach the only word. Four years he contributed to the WVV Wageningen the responsibility with which he in his final season in 1968 rose to be masters of Tweede Divisie to the second division. After a season at the VVV-Venlo. In 1969, he took over vv Heerenveen. Also this team, he led in 1970, in his first season, the championship in the third division and the promotion to the Eerste Divisie. He died in 1989.
