Sesta was fast and very strong player who practiced wrestling as well, he was even Austrian champion in wrestling. Sesta played as striker in the early years, but later commanded the defence very successfully. He was very determined and strong in tackles, all opponents were feared of him. Sesta had also very powerful shot and used to score some goals from long range shooting. A trained farrier Sesta began his football career in 1919 in the case of forward Simmering XI. He then played in the clubs SC Simmering, FK Teplice (1927), WAC (1928), where he won in 1931 with a victory in the Austrian Cup his first title. Finally, 1934, in exchange for Austria Vienna in Upper St. Veit. Greatest success in the violet was winning the Mitropapokals 1936, the forerunner of today's European Cup. Also, the Cup was won in 1935 and 1936 Sesta two more times, a title he remained barred. For the Austrian national team Simmering first played in 1932 against Czechoslovakia (1-1) in Prague and soon became an important part of the miracle team. From this period dates his argument with George, 1 Duke of Kent as part of an international match of the Austrian national team in England. On his assertion that football must be a wonderful profession, Sesta answered literally. "You also have no bad Hackner (Viennese dialect for work), your majesty" He played 44 international matches for Austria and also participated in the FIFA World Cup 1934 Italy part where the red-white-red team to the semifinals came. After the annexation of Austria into the German Reich in 1941 and 1942 he played three internationals for the rich German selection. On 15 June 1941 he celebrated against Croatia at the age of 35, his debut for the national team is so far the oldest player, who played for the Germany his first international match. After the second world war, he still played the first two games in Austria on 19 and 20 August 1945 against Hungary. After finishing his playing career was the Simmering still coach at home and abroad (including the Vienna Sports Club, SK Vorwärts Steyr, Austria Salzburg and Augsburg BC) worked. Besides Sesta was also a successful amateur wrestler, even became the Austrian championship. A famous anecdote told this, as the defender in the intermission of a guest performance from Austria Vienna in Greece defeated the local hero in the struggle there. As a trained singer, he also appeared in vaudeville Light in the Vienna Prater and was awarded in 1932 in London (!) even a gold record for Viennese songs. Karl Sesta died in 1974.
