Joseph Kaucsar is former French defender of Romanian origins. He played mainly as centre half, very determinate and tough player, athletic and with iron will, great man marker, ruthless and impetuous, but also had decent passing and good pace. Kaucsar was born in present-day border between Hungary and Romania, it is unclear how did his Hungarian name Gyula (Julius), the Romanian Iosif (Joseph). He came after the First World War to the south of France Saint-Raphaël, where he worked in a garage in 1923 and for the local football club Stade Raphaëlois played. A national title he won with the club does not, although he was in 1927 and 1929 with Stade respectively in the semifinals of the French national cup competition - 1929 against the club, where the short time before the national team has become Kaucsar two years later joined, namely Sports Olympiques Montpelliérains. With Montpellier, renamed in 1937 in the Stade Olympique Montpelliérain, he played the introduction of professionalism (season 1932/33) as a professional footballer, and 1935 in Division 1 after relegation and a number of years in the second division. From 1934 to 1938, he was standing there with his nine-year younger brother Alfred in a team, he played himself into it in 1939 or 1940 until well into his fifth decade of life for the Montpellier Athletic Club. Joseph is said to have played internationally Kaucsar already in Romania, before he was appointed in March 1931 for the first time in the French national team - the adoption of French citizenship a few weeks earlier. He debuted the first official international match against Germany and was due to his defensive performance, especially against the top scorer Richard Hofmann large share of the 1-0 victory for Les Bleus. Therefore, he also denied the next 13 French encounters in a row. In the 1-0 win over Spain in April 1933 he was seriously injured, was replaced by Georges Verriest and was thereafter only once, eleven months later, an international application. As a result he missed the World Cup finals 1934th He scored a goal in his 15 international matches not once but ran as a team captain. Among the highlights of his involvement was one in a 5-2 victory over "teacher" England in May 1931: Kaucsar had sustained in a duel, a head laceration and played the rest of the game "with blood-smeared face," is for him also. international against Romania (June 1932) to book. Against Germany, he was yet one more time here (3-3 March 1933), also against Switzerland (3-3 in 1932 and two years later at 0:1), and against Austria (February 1933, 0:4), he has the national team jersey worn. Joseph died in 1986.
