He was the last great classical centerhalf in Belgrade. Shorter played in France, but soon returned and finished his career in the uniform of Unity SK - Belgrade (1939-1944) - as a right back, because he refused to the WM - system plays center-half - "policeman". Even a dress shirt 24 times the selection of Belgrade city, and five times he defended the color representation of Yugoslavia (1933-1939) and scored one goal (1934. In Belgrade against Brazil - 8:4). He made his debut on 10 September 1933rd against Poland (3:4) in Warsaw (Lehner replaced), and the national team said goodbye to six years later (the competition was very high: Gajer, Jazbec, Jazbinšek) - 2 February 1939th in a friendly match against Germany (2:3) in Berlin. He was a very successful coach in the country and abroad (Egypt, Kuwait and Greece). He died in 1999. |
