INFO

One of the most striking personalities in Swiss sports history, IFFHS named him among the 100 best European players of the 20th century. Severino Minelli, an absolute world class and among the best in Europe and beyond in the 1930's. Football experts are unanimous: in terms of football, Severino Minelli was 30 or 40 years ahead of his time as a top athlete. It is difficult to list all his qualities: a brilliant control of the ball with both feet, his jump, quick starts, great endurance, his defensive security, his physical and mental agility, his synthetic and instinctive intelligence and above all a great constancy and great robustness. He was not only a highly talented player, he was downright spoiled by the gods of football. He was a fast, intelligent, physically strong defender with enormous regularity. Gifted with great stamina and technique, he served the ball from behind and hit the ball excellently with both legs. An athletic player characterized by his short legs and relatively long torso. Minelli belonged in the group of world-class defender, at the time with the British Hapgood, the German Janes, the Austrian Karl Sesta and Italians Rosetta, Caligaris, Foni and Rava. At 19, he rode his bicycle to Geneva (350 km), where he played for Servette FC Genève.

In "Verrou" he played as sweeper, I think this position could be added.
