Weselik was centre forward and inside forward. Great opportunist with very powerful and precise shot, dominant in the box with his stature. He was tall and strong but lacked pace and mobility and often looked too clumsy. Franz had good positioning and solid heading abilities. Despite looking sometimes slow and static, he was very useful player in build-up play with his experience in later days at Mulhouse, where he was the key figure of the most attacking movements of the team.
