INFO:

Legendary Valencia goalkeeper. Ignacio was the best Spanish keeper of his generation, very powerful and agile, elegant, very skillful with his legs, dominating the penalty area with good reflexes, blocking lot of shots. He was the son of Augustin Eizaguirre, Real Sociedad goalkeeper and substitute of Zamora in the Antwerp Olympics, which means he went to tournament given that he was not going to play. At age 16, during the war, Ignacio was called to a national team that failed to compose himself. Nothing more competitions resumed gave the word of signing Luis Colina and maintained at the expense of being declared in default and spend a year on white. At the end there was agreement, which was followed by a disastrous premiere in Chamartin. Pio recovered since, until a previous colic the match San Mames Ignacio returned the gloves. From there, the story is known, three League Two runners-up four cup finals and sixteen international matches, which make two-thirds of those played in the decade. Then his resentment with Quincoces, for letting him several times in the bank, and another word given to the president of the Royal Society, he returned to his homeland. Unlike Epi and Igoa, Eizaguirre went correctly, in an open letter to the very nice hobby. He was tall, athletic, as well as being great to the very limit of effectiveness. In his best seasons instilled the feeling that he could only frustrate the entire opposing team. Was well embraced by Alvaro and Juan Ramón, although mediated gusting misunderstanding between both lines. His bad days were few but harmful. Worst, the home defeat against Barcelona, which cost the league 48. They combined with the trauma of the three late losses, led to the belief that Eizaguirre, excellent during the course, did not control nerves in crucial moments. This cost him his job at the World Cup (played the first game and the last), and in a way, caused his departure, in what is believed one of periodic rebellions (used to have them earlier in the season to claim a raise), but it turned out to be serious. No one would have thought had nine seasons, split between Real Sociedad and Osasuna. In 1957, he returned to dress with coat bat, in a friendly against Wolverhampton, and repeated in the return visit. After becpming coach, with a long history that began in the Osasuna own and finished in Alava, with high-profile stages in Cordoba, Sevilla and Celta. In 1969, already in his fifties, returned to Mestalla for party veterans who prefaced the golden jubilee, and a check is marked in the same squad that earned by an entire album of his career. He died in 2013.
