Legendary German striker. Conen played as centre forward although his style was more of an inside forward, technically gifted player and very mobile, dropping back in midfield to create chances but also scoring himself. Very agile, good at heading, good shot and intelligence in the box. Edmund Conen opened his seniors career at FV Saarbrücken and increased with the team in the 1934/35 season in the Southwest Gauliga on . After his illness pause, he joined the mediation of his former coach Ossi Müller. In 1938 the Stuttgart Kickers in the Gauliga Württemberg . During the Second World War, he was a guest player at FC Mulhouse and the army -SV Groß Born .
